Femur Finder System®, A Femur Fracture Repair Device

MIS Approach to femoral Nailing

The Femur Finder™ is specifically designed to help an orthopedic surgeon in the insertion of an intramedullary rod for a femur fracture. The Femur Finder™ facilitates accurate aiming and drilling of the guide wire into the proximal femoral canal through a small incision. This eliminates the need for a starter awl and minimizes postoperative morbidity and healing time due to the percutaneous incision.

The user-friendly design reduces the time necessary to locate the piriformis fossa or greater trochanter while reducing surgeon exposure to radiation. Determining the appropriate entry point in the proximal femur minimizes damage to the hip abductor mechanism. The system includes a tissue protector to minimize tissue damage when inserting intramedullary reamers and individually packaged sterile guide wires in the spade tip and ball tip design. The Femur Finder™ and tissue protector are sterilized and stored in the design specific sterilization case.

  • Provides precise, time saving positioning with an intramedullary rod via a small incision for closed reduction femoral nailing
  • Minimizes surgeon exposure to radiation
